History

Children will be learning about the English and British monarchy. They will use timelines, information about royal palaces, portraits and other historical sources.

Children look at the life cycle of humans and how we stay healthy and fit - looking at different types of exercise and how they impact our heart rate.

Plant Survival - Order soil and seeds.

Children complete a plant diary. They do lots of planting, using seeds and bulbs- watching the germination process.

Children will look at the features of coastlines, being involved in  an exciting erosion experiment. They will then study the history of Whitstable and extend their knowledge through visiting the beach and harbor of Whitstable.

Habitats - The children will be learning about a range of habitats and will be able to look closely at a microhabitat. They will learn about how humans support and harm habitats, and then will do a project around improving the school grounds to help habitats

Animal Survival - Order caterpillars

Children watch the life cycle of a caterpillar develop. They have the opportunity to build a project to improve habitats and school grounds

Flower Head - order clay, food dye, paper plates and coffee filter papers.

Children will look at different examples of flowers focusing on the shape, form and texture. They will create their own rose using clay, printing method and using food dye to create their own textured flower.
