News & Diary
At Featherby Infant and Nursery School we believe that learning should be exciting, fun and engaging for all children.
Our aim is to provide a creative curriculum, which not only incorporates the National Curriculum but the needs, thoughts and ideas of all learners.
International Primary Curriculum (IPC) is a cross curricular topic based planning that enables the children to learn through practical activities.
Children can develop their knowledge, skills and understanding of a whole range of subjects and topics.
Children develop their understanding through:
- Knowledge = I can remember things I have seen and heard.
- Skills = With practise I will be able to…
- Understanding = I can use what I have learnt.
There are also eight learning goals which are displayed through characters that the children are familiar with and can relate to. These learning goals are taught in such a way that the children develop the personal qualities of:
Enquiry, Adaptability, Resilience, Morality, Communication, Thoughtfulness, Co-operation and Respect.
