Leeds Castle Owl Visit
This week, the children at Featherby Infant and Nursery School, are focusing on the brilliant story: 'Owl Babies' by Martin Waddell. To contribute to our amazing learning, we were lucky enough to be visited by some real life owls - who flew all the way to us from Leeds Castle! The children got to meet different types of owls including: a burrowing owl, a barn owl and an african spotted eagle owl - all of whom loved flying around our school hall!
We learnt all about their nocturnal behaviour and how they can't actually turn their heads all the way around... (they can however turn their heads by 270°) ... and we even got to stroke them at the end! We'd like to give a big thank you to the Owl Team at Leeds Castle for making our focus topic a big hoot!
